First application scan

After signing up, the only step required to initiate your first vulnerability scan is to upload your application.

After the upload is complete, AppSweep will analyze your app and prompt you to either take a guided walkthrough of the key issues or proceed directly to the full results. The walkthrough highlights high-severity findings, providing options to suppress specific issues or mark them as important for further attention. Ultimately, you will be directed to a comprehensive overview page, where all identified issues are listed and categorized by severity.

Every shown issue contains a list of findings which represent the detected problems in your application. Your findings typically have an associated location that you can investigate. You can see the finding details when you click on the issue title.

On the issue detail page, you will also get a recommendation about how to fix the issue.

Additional scans

Each AppSweep scan belongs to an Application, which groups together the scans of various versions of your app. Application settings let you configure an API key or manage finding suppressions. Each Application belongs to a team. With Teams you can manage access control and sharing of scans between different user accounts.

When you finished your first scan, AppSweep automatically created an Application for you. You can see this app on AppSweep’s home page:

Once you click the app, you can see all historical scans and you can also upload a new build for scanning:
